Yes, You CAN Remove Hair There

Can you imagine no longer having to shave, wax, or pluck hair? Now, you don’t have to leave it to the imagination. You can save time and have perfect, baby-smooth skin at all times.

Our expert, at Soulage Wellness & Aesthetic Center, Dr. Pompeyo Chavez uses the latest laser hair removal technology, the Elite MPX, suitable for all skin types, to remove even the most stubborn hairs. Read on to find out how laser hair removal works and what results you can expect to see.

Understanding how laser technology removes hair

Laser technology removes hair by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle. Before the treatments, you will be asked to shave—not wax—the areas you wish to treat. Hairs can only be removed if they are in the active growth stage. However, different hair follicles are in different stages, and as a consequence, laser treatment needs to be repeated (usually for 3-6 sessions) so all hairs are treated in the growth stage.

During the treatment, you may feel a slight burning sensation, but most people tolerate it very well. Some describe the discomfort felt during the treatment as a small pinch.

Where laser technology can be used on the body to remove hair

Laser treatments can be used almost anywhere on the body if the treated area is free of skin disease, cuts, and infections. Any moles or skin tags can be covered during the treatment.

Unlike other hair removal treatments, like electrolysis, the hair removal process is quick and well tolerated. Electrolysis can be used virtually anywhere on the body as well, but it involves the use of needles to deliver an electrical charge, which is as slow and painful as it sounds.

Laser hair removal results

Some of the hairs removed will come back, while others won’t. Most people do need a couple of maintenance sessions per year, but after each session, fewer and fewer hair follicles will survive. You can expect to see the first shedding of hairs about a week after the treatment. During this time, you can shave, but you shouldn’t wax or pluck your hair.
