Our laser procedures offer an alternative solution for clearer and healthier looking nails, which gives an unique combination of wavelength and pulse structure that is absorbed by the fungus at a faster rate than the surrounding healthy tissue.
What is the process of this procedure?
Micropulses of the laser light pass through the nail without causing damage to the nail or the surrounding skin. At the time of the procedure, the nail will not become instantly clear—it takes time to grow out. During the laser procedure itself, you’ll feel a warming sensation and some mild pinpricks as the light penetrates your nails.
These laser procedures offer an effective alternative to oral medication, which may have certain health risks; and topical treatments, which may have poor efficacy. In fact, clinical studies show that after a single procedure, more than 70% of patients experienced sustained improvement in the appearance of clear nail.
Are there any side affects?
Our laser treatment poses none of the risk or harmful side effects that often result from other alternatives. And, even better, this convenient in-office procedure typically takes only about 30 minutes to perform.
After the procedure you can return to your regular activities immediately. You can even apply polish to your nails, if you wish (although you must remove any polish before the procedure). Most people require only one session, but more may be needed if your nails are in particularly bad shape or if they become re-infected.
