Ultherapy®: Your Secret, Surgery-Free Weapon for Skin-Tightening

Ultherapy®: Your Secret, Surgery-Free Weapon for Skin-Tightening

In recent years, the popularity of facelifts has declined as less invasive treatments have been proven to be successful against loose skin and fine lines.

Ultherapy is a non-invasive treatment that involves the use of ultrasound to stimulate collagen and elastin in the deep tissues of the skin, tightening and rejuvenating body contours.

Ultherapy can be used to tighten skin on the face, neck, and cleavage.

From our expert at Soulage Wellness and Aesthetic Center, Dr. Pompeyo Chavez, here’s everything you need to know about Ultherapy.

How is Ultherapy different from other non-invasive skin tightening treatments?

Most non-invasive treatments require several sessions to see improvements in the skin, Ultherapy can trigger collagen and elastin production within one session.

Even months after the treatment, your skin will continue improving as your body produces more collagen and elastin to heal targeted tissues.

What happens during an Ultherapy appointment?

During the treatment, Dr. Chavez asks you to lay down comfortably while he prepares your skin for the treatment. He examines your skin and adjusts the device to the appropriate settings.

Next, he applies a thick coat of gel that allows the device to glide over your skin during the treatment. Although Ultherapy isn’t painful, you may feel some heat and discomfort.

The treatment lasts anywhere between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area. The results may last up to 24 months, after which you can choose to repeat the treatment.

Ultherapy results and satisfaction rates

Ultherapy comes with no downtime. It’s done on an outpatient basis, but this doesn’t make it a less efficient treatment.

In one study, 73% of participants stated that they would recommend the treatment to others. Another study found that Ultherapy can improve skin laxity, and this improvement was best observed 12 to 14 weeks after the treatment.

Ultherapy isn’t meant to address deep wrinkles and severe laxity, but it can be used to combat early signs of aging. If you’re concerned about deep lines, Dr. Chavez may recommend a different treatment such as laser therapy or injectables.
