Enjoy Smooth Skin with Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a cosmetic procedure that has the advantage of permanently removing hair. It is much quicker and more convenient than electrolysis, in which an electrified needle is used to deliver a charge to a single hair at a time. In laser hair removal, our team of professionals can treat multiple hair follicles at once. Laser hair removal can be done on almost any part of the body.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

At Soulage Wellness & Aesthetic Center, we are proud to use the Elite MPX laser, which has the advantage of being safe for all skin types. Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin or pigment in the follicle and destroying it. The Elite MPX laser can switch between two wavelengths, and one, the 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength, is the safest for use on clients with dark or tanned skin.

The Elite MPX laser also has a built-in cooling mechanism to keep the client comfortably cool during treatment. Most patients will need a series of treatment sessions at our office to get the best results. That’s because hairs have a life cycle, during which they grow, rest, and are shed. They produce the most pigment during the growth phase, and lasers, therefore, work best on hairs that are actively growing. Furthermore, hairs do not all grow at the same time. During any given treatment session, some hairs will be growing, some will be dormant, and some will be preparing to shed.

Is Laser Hair Removal Really Permanent?

Ideally, laser hair removal destroys the follicles that produce hair. When it does, the hair removal is permanent. In some cases, though, the laser only damages the follicle, and the hair can eventually grow back. However, it all depends on the unique case, as results vary from patient to patient.
