Bothered by Stubborn Fat Areas? Consider Non Surgical Body Contouring

If you work hard in the gym and still can’t get the curves you’ve always dreamed of, it may not be your diet or workout regimen to blame. It could also be your genetic makeup and hormones that impact your body fat distribution.

Fortunately, there are ways to reduce body fat in stubborn areas without going under the knife.

Newer technologies that use radiofrequency can pass through the skin and destroy fat cells, all while leaving surrounding tissues unharmed.

From our expert at Soulage Wellness and Aesthetic Center, Dr. Pompeyo Chavez, here’s everything you need to know about non-surgical body contouring.

Understanding how body contouring works

Body contouring refers to eliminating fat in stubborn areas that don’t respond to diet and exercise.

During the treatment, Dr. Chavez attaches paddles that transmit heat and radiofrequency energy to the problem area. Although you may feel some discomfort, you won’t feel any pain. Many patients find that body contouring feels like getting a spa treatment.

The duration of the treatment varies depending on the size of the treatment area, but you can expect to spend about an hour in the doctor’s office.

Once your fat cells are destroyed, it may take a couple of months for your lymphatic system to clear them out. However, because the body clears out fat cells on its own, the final results will look natural and even.

In addition to removing up to 24% of fat in the treated area, the TruSculpt iD system used by Dr. Chavez also tightens skin in the treated area.

Who is a good candidate for body contouring?

Dr. Chavez uses the TruSculpt iD system for patients who are 20-30 pounds away from their ideal weight and want to soften and tone specific areas of the body.

Once destroyed, fat cells don’t regenerate. However, you’ll still be asked to maintain a healthy lifestyle after the treatment, as excess calories can cause weight gain and undo the results.

Good candidates are also willing to undergo several sessions spaced a few weeks apart for best results.
