6 Problems that Botox Can Improve

As you age, your skin loses elasticity and doesn’t easily return to its initial shape after it folds or creases during muscle movement. Over time, fine lines and wrinkles are formed.

Botox®, in the hands of an experienced injector, is a miracle drug. It can erase lines within days, so you don’t have to consider invasive treatments or surgery.

Botox is a neuromodulator that interferes with signals from your nerves to your muscles. It temporarily paralyzes the targeted muscle, which prevents your skin from folding and ultimately wrinkling.

Although it works wonders, it only does so in the hands of an experienced injector. Injecting the toxin in the wrong muscle or injecting too much can lead to poor symmetry in your face. Led by Dr. Pompeyo Chavez, our team at Soulage Wellness & Aesthetic Center, has over two decades of experience in administering Botox injections.

In this month’s blog, our team of experts share six cosmetic problems that Botox can improve.

Frown lines

Frown lines, often referred to as glabellar lines or 11s, are the lines that appear between your eyebrows when you squint. With time, you may see the lines even when your muscles are at rest and you’re not frowning. Botox fixes this by paralyzing the small muscles so they can no longer contract and create wrinkles.

Forehead lines

The horizontal lines on your forehead appear due to raising your eyebrows. An experienced injector uses Botox to freeze the muscles that control the movement of your forehead lines, but without impacting the appearance of your eyebrows and eyes.

Crow’s feet

Crow’s feet are the lines that develop around your eyes as a consequence of squinting over many years. Botox stops the tender skin in the delicate eye area from folding and causing more wrinkles.

Bunny lines

Lines on the sides of your nose that appear when you smile or scrunch up your nose like a bunny are often quite pronounced and noticeable. When your provider at Soulage Wellness & Aesthetic Center injects the Botox, your muscles stop contracting, and your bunny lines disappear.

Lip lines

Lip lines are vertical wrinkles that appear on and above your lips. They’re associated with repetitive movements like puckering or smoking, but sun damage is also a culprit. Botox relaxes wrinkles and makes the area smooth again.

Chin dimpling

Due to the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin, your chin can show signs of aging by dimpling. When your provider precisely injects the Botox into your chin, it freezes the small muscles and minimizes the lumpy dimpling to leave your chin smooth and even.
